The Interim Manager

Interim Management is the temporary provision of management resources and skills. It can be seen as the short-term assignment of a proven experienced interim executive manager to manage a period of transition, crisis or change within an organization. In this situation, a permanent role may be unnecessary or impossible to find on short notice. Additionally, there may be nobody internally who is suitable for, or available to take up, the position in question.

The typical interim manager has got more than 10 or 20 years either in line management and/or project management experience. This experience has been obtained in different companies, fields/sectors, and countries. Based upon the successes and qualification earned, and extensive professional contacts, he/she has a solid base to self-managed and can undertake the assigned responsibility independently.

Thus, the average age of the interim managers accredited to the BRAINFORCE M.A.S.T.E.R.-Pool is around 50 years.

Due to the professional experience and extraordinary flexibility with respect to time and work location, an interim manager is used to live out of his/her suitcase at very different national or international locations. Furthermore, alternating between most demanding work load in the performance of interim management mandates with breaks, are his/her professional life style. The continuous alternating phase of assignments in client's operations and time of free disposition are the particular appeal to choose this working model.

Last but not least, the remuneration model, challenging to both clients and interim managers would reflect this.
